Vic-toria Ruiz Studio
Vic-toria Ruiz Studio is a creative studio founded by Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist Victoria Ruiz, working between London, Miami, and Rio de Janeiro. It produces bold projects at the intersection of art, costume, and social activism, including wearable sculptures, live performance, staged photography, and multimedia works that explore themes such as the carnivalesque, social justice, our relationship with nature and cultural identity.
Rooted in storytelling and craftsmanship, the studio creates handcrafted costumes, masks, and surrealist sculptures, often informed by Ruiz’s Latin American heritage and carnivalesque aesthetics. Its work has been featured in publications such as The Observer, British Journal of Photography, Service95, PHmuseum, Photo Vogue, WePresent, and exhibited internationally.
Projects like Para Tu Altar: Las Fuerzas Divinas de la Naturaleza, and its most recent work We Knew the World in Fragments of Color highlight the studio’s focus on Latin American cultural symbolism, spirituality, and a strong chromatic language work that amplifies underrepresented voices. By merging performance, mask-making, carnivalesque costume creation, temporary sculptures, photography, storytelling and activism, Vic-toria Ruiz Studio has carved out a niche at the intersection of contemporary art and political expression.
The studio is led by Victoria Ruiz, founder and creative director, alongside Helena Cebrian, studio manager, producer, and art director.
